Vicki Tang Beiqi, Financial Planner in Singapore

Still convinced my photographer deserves credit for hiding the eyebags.

About Vicki

The path I never planned

Honestly? If you told 18-year-old me I'd end up as a Financial Planner, I would not have believed you.

I took the "safe" route for most of my life. Studied hard, got good grades, got a scholarship, and did everything by the book.

Everyone, including me, figured I'd go corporate and get a "good job." But I never actually knew what I wanted to do.

Then I stumbled into this industry through an internship, and something clicked. I was finally learning things that were actually useful. Not textbook theory, but practical decisions I could use in my own life and share with the people around me.

What made me stay was the growth and the impact. This is not work where you can sit still. Every year, I'm pushed to think sharper, show up better, and take the responsibility seriously.

Money decisions are rarely just about money.
They affect where people live, how they support family, how safe they feel, and what they dare to build next.

Walking away from what everyone expected was scary. But choosing something I actually care about turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made.

Outside of work, I'm probably on a plane somewhere, at the gym, or deep in a book :)
